Black Berkey® elements are the leader in gravity-assisted water filtration, backed by independent testing. Black Berkey® elements significantly reduce trihalomethanes, inorganic minerals, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), petroleum products, perfluorochemicals, rust, sludge, sediments, radiological materials and much more.

The Black Berkey® elements have been tested by accredited third-party laboratories that have reported that the elements meet ANSI/NSF protocol (Std. 53) and treat over 200 typical contaminants found in drinking water sources.

Elements are installed in the top chamber of any Berkey system. They can also be used to enhance most other gravity-fed water filter systems. Sold in sets of 2 elements.

We recommend replacing the Black Berkey® elements every 3,000 gallons (22,700 gallons per set of 2 elements). Elements may need to be replaced sooner depending on the quality of the inlet water. They are re-cleanable for the life of the element and come with a 2-year pro-rated warranty.

Simply pour water into the upper chamber of the system and easily draw clean water from the tap of the lower chamber.
